Burden
Burden is meant to show the physical presence and mass that lies and secrets can take in our lives. Often people lie believing that if they keep it quiet, they can go on and live their lives as before. In fact, major lies and deep secrets do take up space. They determine movements as one tries to move them or work around them. I used the image of a body bag because the image of someone trying to hide or dispose of a corpse seemed analagous to trying to live in and around lies and secrets.
Viewers are invited to move the piece between the white lines on the floor to experience how heavy and cumbersome the burden of lies is.
